Editing Fundamentals LIBA 9373
Our Editing Fundamentals course helps you prepare for our Editorial Skills Program by providing the required foundational and practical knowledge and skills. Get an introduction to professional editorial standards as defined by Editors Canada, including a review of ethical and legal considerations for editors. Other topics include the editing industry in Canada; editorial and production processes (and how courses in the program fit with them); AI and its uses and implications for editors and editing; accessibility requirements and practices; and the critical importance of plain language and conscious language. Learn how to use markup tools in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat, and review the best current editorial reference materials, software, and related resources.
