Library Learning Commons (LLC)
The George Brown College Library Learning Commons (LLC) offers you a variety of services and resources to enhance your academic success at the college.
For locations and hours of operation, visit the Library Learning Commons web page. Keep in mind that the hours of operation for the LLC vary depending on location and time of year, including extended hours at different times throughout the year and summer hours during July and August. Each LLC location has the computer hardware and software specific to the courses taught at that campus.
Continuing Education students can access many useful resources, including ebooks, databases, journals, dictionaries/encyclopedias, DVDs, and audiobooks, on the LLC Find Resources web page. Course reserves/textbooks are available onsite only.
Continuing Education students can also access many services in the physical library such as adaptive technology labs, accessible library devices, group study rooms, and printing/photocopying. For more information about the services available, visit the LLC Services web page. (The semester-long equipment loans program is not available to Continuing Education students.)
You must have a library card to take materials out of the LLC and to use many of their services. If you present your registration confirmation, you will be issued a free digital student ID upon request at any LLC. This is your library card as a Continuing Education student. Some students will need a physical card; in those cases, you will be contacted by your course/program co-ordinator. Students IDs and physical library cards are only valid for the duration of the term/course in which you are registered. To renew your account, contact the library or visit an LLC service desk.
