Medical Unit Clerk Program
Our Medical Unit Clerk Program is ideal for those seeking their first employment experience in a medical setting as well as for those already working in a healthcare facility who wish to upgrade their skills to advance to a new position. Explore what is involved with scheduling, and learn the medical terminology used in healthcare settings (including acronyms), and practice applying it in context using a variety of real and simulated requisition forms and software. Case studies and simulations help you build your communication and interpersonal skills so that you can interact with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff in a way that is clear, empathetic, and professional. As you gain competency with handling electronic health records (EHR), focus on ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with healthcare regulations like the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
