Wine Regions of the World: Old World HOST 9178
Our Wine Regions of the World: Old World course explores the major old world wine regions, including France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Greece. In our Sensory Development and Wine Styles course, you studied wines by weight and flavour; in this course, study the same wines according to where they are produced. Learn to recognize the character and quality of the major wine regions of Europe by learning about their history, terroir, laws, culture, leading producers, and trends. Special attention is given to France and Italy since they share the largest part of the wine market in the world today. Also study non-appellation wines such as "super" Tuscans and vin de pays wines. Continue to develop your tasting ability and wine assessment skills while paying particular attention to local cuisine and classic pairings.
